Waterproofing a new build property incorporating Newton Fibran XPS 500C Closed Cell Insulation
Our client requested that we supply and install a tanking system with a third party warranty at their new build property near Macclesfield, Cheshire.
We recommended a combined Type A external and Type C internal waterproofing system in accordance with BS8102: 2022
Closed Cell insulation board
We used Newton Fibran XPS 500-C on the external walls coloured blue on the attached photos. This is a 50mm deep, closed-cell thermal insulation board made from rigid extruded polystyrene foam (XPS) for thermal mass. This helps maintain heat within the structure.
The last photo shows Newton 410 Geo-Drain Quattro with geo textile filter sheet applied over the Newton Fibran insulation.
