Measures to manage dust levels in a senstive environment
The lift pit was located in a corridor next to the operating theatres below ground. Patients were sharing the same corridor to enter and exit the theatres. There were no windows or exits to allow us to ventilate using an air mover with ducting.
It was vitally important that we kept the environment clean. However this type of tanking system creates a significant amount of dust. We resolved the dust issue by using a large filter sock attached to an air movement fan. This captured the entirety of the dust and enabled the theatres to remain in use whilst the work was carried out.
