Koster KD System

Our client asked us to provide a spec and quotation to waterproof a lift pit in a prestigious property in West London.

The videos show our Senior Technician applying retro-fit waterproofing on the negative side using the Koster KD System.

In the footage our technician bag rubs Koster KD 2 Blitz-powder into Koster KD 1 Base sealing slurry and then applies Koster KD 3 Sealer with a brush.

The sequence of work is as follows:

  1. Substrate damage, deterioration, cracks, voids and holes repaired and filled prior to installation of the waterproof membrane using Koster Repair Mortar.
  2. Concrete floor and walls primed with Polysil TG 500.
  3. Form a fillet along the wall/floor junction and the vertical change of direction junctions using Koster Repair Mortar Plus.
  4. Apply the Koster KD System:

This 3 step system consisted of 3 products:

  • KÖSTER KD 1 Base: Fast curing mineral sealing slurry with excellent resistance to aggressive ground water and high water pressure.
  • KÖSTER KD 2 Blitz-powder: Highly reactive powder with extremely short setting time. With application of the dry powder, active water leaks are sealed within seconds (see video).
  • KÖSTER KD 3 Sealer: Extremely low viscosity silicifying liquid. The active ingredients penetrate deeply into the substrate and react to form an insoluble compound. The pores are plugged and permanently sealed through the mineralization process (see video).
  • Immediately afterwards, and again after approximately 30 minutes, repeated first step ie. application of KÖSTER KD 1 Base.

Resin Injection

Koster 2 in 1 Crack Injection System used in addition on the negative side (internal).

Injected directly into the masonry.

  • Used in conjunction with Type A & Type B Waterproofing systems
  • Stops active leaks and seals crack and construction joints permanently
  • Easy application
  • Seamless application
  • Fast curing
  • Highly flexible
  • Applied on dry or water bearing cracks and joints
  • Suitable for new construction and repair on existing structures
  • Suitable for waterproofing basements
