Membrane Systems for Rising Damp Treatment

Our surveyor carried out a pre-purchase damp survey at this semi-detached property near the Peak District.  Once the new owners had the keys they asked us to treat the damp identified in the walls.

In accordance with BS6576: 2005 – Code of Practice for diagnosis of rising damp in walls of buildings and installation of chemical damp-proof courses, the Damptec Systems team removed the affected plaster and injected a chemical damp proof course into the first available mortar bed.

John Newton Waterproofing 3mm Cavity Drain Membrane

The above photo shows the application of cavity drain membrane on the window wall.  This is used on walls where there is enough depth to accommodate the membrane system, dry lining and a plaster finish.

Safeguard Drybase Flex Membrane

Drybase Flex Membrane was applied to the right hand wall above.  It is particularly useful where the original plaster depth is too shallow to accommodate the cavity drain membrane system because the plaster finish can be applied directly to the Drybase Flex Membrane.
